Our Did You Know series brings some of Initial State’s amazing features to attention while giving tips and tricks on how to make the most of them.
Did you know that you can use our public REST API to get data into Initial State? Like the rest of Initial State, we designed the API to be super simple to understand and use.
The beauty of a public API is that you can now use whatever language you want to interface with your Initial State account – all you have to do is make API calls. Sending your data to us for visualization just got that much easier!
Our API documentation is located on Apiary, which allows you to see language specific code examples of creating a bucket and sending events.
You can see the API documentation here: http://docs.initialstateeventsapi.apiary.io/
The other important implication of the API is versioning. You won’t have to worry about your streams breaking while we push out even more cool updates and features!
