on July 23 | by

What if your Raspberry Pi Zero could access internet services from anywhere? What if your Fona Cellular GSM and GPS breakout had the brains of a full Linux computer behind it? What if you could access the Fona’s cellular capabilities and GPS data from a Raspberry Pi at the same time?

Well, you’d have a pretty sweet start to any IoT project you can think of. And this tutorial’s gonna help you do it.

and you missed the tag line that included the price, . . .

  2. […] Great tutorial by Rachel Gregory of Initial State on making a truly roam capable Raspberry Pi – whilst perhaps it may be a bit more ‘wirey’ than your tablet – it could be a great start for a mobile IoT device, follow the link to the article […]

Doesn’t look too hard to do, but then nether does buying a cheap cell phone (which costs less than all of these parts).

  4. The fun is in learning how to not cheap parts and becoming somewhat knowledgeable with the ability to actually converse with others on subjects that would prove highly beneficial in times of need Similar to being able to construct a transmitter or radio or valve amp or generate power , hydrogen or other topics which these days might be cheaper but when you view inside and look at general construction well uhm that leaves a lot of space for massive improvements Not every thing in life is about money sometime or how cheap Sometimes there is actually more at stake than , “I can get this cheaper ” Some people regard education as first and foremost with trade skills behind them rather than slavery in other islands so that others can profiteer from some of the worst working conditions under nothing but tyrants
