Our Did You Know series brings some of Initial State’s amazing features to attention while giving tips and tricks on how to make the most of them.
|Did you know that it is extremely easy to share your data visualizations with other users? Any set of event-driven data that appears as a bucket in your log shelf can be shared with another Initial State user in a matter of seconds. Just click on the “Share” icon to the right of your bucket’s creation date. Type in the email address of the user you’d like to share with (must be the same address used for their Initial State account) and click “Share log”. If they are on Initial State at the time of sharing, they will see your bucket automatically appear in their log shelf, but an email notification will also be sent.
Your friend or colleague can now do everything that you could with the bucket – visualize it in Waves or Lines, see the raw data in Source, delete it – but they cannot share your log with anyone else. You maintain ownership of the original data.
If you ever want to take away someone’s ability to play with your data after you have shared it with them, it’s as easy as clicking the minus symbol to the left of their name when you view who you’ve shared with.
