Weekly Envy: Portable Pocket Printer

The Weekly Envy highlights one piece of cool tech that we’ve come across lately and really wish we could buy!

From ZUtA Labs:

This little guy is a portable pocket printer. At just 10.2 cm in diameter and 7.5 cm in height the first mini robotic printer weighs a measly 350 grams.

Due to it’s mechanical design, the printer is not limited by paper size. See it in action in this video from zutalabs.com:

You might be wondering how long this can print since it’s so small. The battery will give you an hour of straight printing (which is roughly 60 standard pages). The ink cartridge should be able to handle 100 standard pages, but the ZUtA team is still testing that. Considering that I would probably end up using this for forgotten handouts or birthday cards, the battery and ink would last longer.

The pocket printer uses WiFi to communicate, so smartphones, tablets, and laptops can all control it. Print speed is 1 page per minute.

Pre-order price is $199 with ink cartridges running at $19.90.
